2011 BREEDING REPORT

Parcival’s first U.S. foal crop is on the ground and the results are outstanding!  Parcival bred 6 mares last year, and 6 healthy foals are on the ground.  We could not be more pleased with the substance of these babies.  Out of both thoroughbred and warmblood mares, the compact frame, long leg, and lovely shoulder and hip on these foals is so pleasing to see.

But our favorite result?  Every breeder has said something like this: “The nicest-dispositioned  foal we’ve ever bred.” Dr. P;  and, “I never cease to be amazed by her nature.” Michelle R.  I t is most gratifying to know that Parcival is passing along his wonderful character.

And we have variety!  Check out the baby gallery to see 2011’s crop:

·         Out of 4 thoroughbred mares and 2 warmbloods

·         3 fillies, 3 colts

·         Chestnut, Bay, Black, and White!

·         Texas, Colorado, Vermont, Maryland.

In the meantime, Parcival has booked some wonderful mares for 2012 and we are already anxious to see the next foal crop!

2011 COMPETITION REPORT

The 2010-2011 winter/spring Florida competition season saw Parcival return to the show ring after taking a couple of seasons off for breeding, recovery from a sore tendon, and time for his owner/rider to recover from surgery.  It was a wild time in the spring CDIs with more than 50 horses competing in the small tour at many of the shows, vying for the Pan-Am team.   We enjoyed our successes in tough competition, garnering 69-70% in the national classes and 64-67% in the CDIs.  A good return, and now back to the Grand Prix training![

Young horse Cash (Walk The Line, by World of Dreams/Heinira x DeNiro) has really stepped up in his 5-year-old year, getting great scores and comments in the FEI young horse classes and really starting to show us his abilities.   Owner (Mom), trainer (Michelle Gibson), and I could not be more pleased and are looking forward to the National Young Horse Championships in August at Lamplight.

 SUMMER NEWS

In News of Friends, the Diamante Farms crew has managed to fill the barn all summer long and are busy with some amazing horses!  We are excited to share the ride up to Lamplight with Devon Kane and her stunning young PSG horse Destiny, who will contest the Developing Horse championships.  Devon has been extremely busy at the shows this year, with Sanchez, Don Angelo, Prins, and Destiny covering just about every FEI class offered.  And Michelle endures an embarrassment of riches every day between assisting Devon, me, client Jody S., and others as well as riding more than half a dozen promising young horses.  Jody owns a stable-full herself now, and a couple of them have a very promising future with Michelle, as well as the wonderful horses Jody works every day.

While remaining a happy part of the Diamante family, we have also found a new stable home in another part of Wellington owned by long-time Texas neighbors Kendra and Robbie Kent.   They have a big group of lovely upper-level horses and talented youngsters on their serene Wellington farm, where Parcival and Cash enjoy great views and lots of attention.

March 2010

It has a been a busy winter season for Parcival and friends.  And we have made so many wonderful new friends along the way!  One of the
most exciting moments was at the Nations Cup competition at WEF when my Texas neighbors - Jan and Dani Beavers, who were in town
to show for a couple of weeks - ended up sitting next to the owners of Lancelot, Parcival's sire.  Jan sent me a text (sometimes modern communications are just so cool!) and I headed straight over to meet these delightful Irish folks.  They stand an impressive group of
stallions at their Kennedy Equine Centre in Ireland, and they were very excited to see photos of Parcival and learn of his wonderful
successes in the dressage arena.  The horse world is indeed small.

Within days I was emailing with their daughter Oonagh and received these fabulous pictures of Lancelot -- who at 17 is still jumping at the
Grand Prix level.  The resemblance to Parcival, I think, is remarkable.

Parcival has flourished in the clinics with Hubertus Schmidt and our training with Michelle toward the grand prix has been wonderful fun.
I can't wait to get to the show ring again, though lately every time we plan it, something comes up to keep us away.  Parcival is enjoying his status as a breeding stallion, though, and we are getting many inquiries for him this first season.  Because he is so easy to collect, I have
made limited offers to ship fresh semen to some breeders.  If you are interested in this program, please contact me at amy.bock@att.net
or at 561-247-4337 to discuss arrangements.

I did get to show my new young horse Walk The Line ("Cash") in the USEF four-year-olds test at Jim Brandon recently though, and that
was just a ball.  Cash is owned by my Mom, Nancy, and I think she had more fun that anyone watching her boy step up and take on the
show ring for the first time.  And he did not disappoint!  Despite torrential rains that flooded Cash's stall Thursday night and almost
completely washed out the show on Friday (no schooling that day for us!), Cash was on his best behavior and earned straight 8s in his first USEF qualifier.  The judging panel told me I was "a lucky girl to have such a nice horse" and that Cash "was right on track in his training"
and would take me up the levels with ease.  Of course we know he is special, but it is nice to get agreement from the people doing the
scoring!

We are having just as much fun following Devon and Michelle in the show ring this year, and they have both been very busy.   Michelle and
Don Angelo are putting together an amazing season in the young Oldenburg stallion's first year of Grand Prix, posting scores in the high
60s and pulling in top-4 placings in the GP, the Special, and the GP Freestyle in their two CDIs so far.  You will always be able to spot the Diamante Farms crowd at the shows when Michelle and "Boss" are competing!  Michelle is also showing T-Bone, Cash's brother, in the
four-year-old classes, and we are having a terrific friendly rivalry.  They earned an 8.3 to win the qualifier at the last show, giving me and
Cash a nice big target to aim for.  Michelle is an amazing competitor at the shows (one of the things I am learning from her), but I'm sure
they really only beat us because T-Bone did not have to put up with a flooded stall . . . ;-)

Devon and her 5-year-old, Sanchez, turn heads whenever they go in the ring, and this first season of competition for those two is
producing win after win.  They look just awesome together.  And Destiny continues to make the judges smile with his incredibly athletic
gaits.  Now at Third Level, that incredible gelding will be moving up quickly and starting some buzz.  He is always fun to watch.

November 2009 - The Diamante Farms gang has returned from Germany and the barn is busy and full.  We have many new young horses
filling stalls and it promises to be an adventurous winter season!  Congratulations to Jody on her beautiful young mare Chica (see the Oldenburg GOV website for photos of Michelle, Devon, Terri, and Jody having a grand time at the auction).  Add Devon's lovely gelding Sanchez and my fantastic World of Dreams baby Walk The Line, and it looks like we will be filling up the young horse classes this season.
Merry Christmas, y'all!

October 2009 – Congratulations to Michelle Gibson and Don Angelo, who were invited to perform a special Grand Prix exhibition at the Oldenburg Auction Gala in Vechta on October 2!  Word from Germany has returned that they were stars at the huge event, which
celebrated the 30th year of the auctioneer’s service there.

September 2009 – Parcival and Amy are enjoying a couple of months in Aiken, SC working with Shawna Harding while the Diamante Farms crew goes to Germany to work with Hubertus Schmidt.  Shawna trains out of the beautiful Black Forest Equestrian Center, which encompasses 500 acres of the most beautiful South Carolina countryside.  Parcival is enjoying his hacks in the woods!

August 2009 - Although his first official breeding season in the U.S. will be 2010, Parcival does have one foal on the way – Dr. Bill Patterson, Parcival’s own veterinarian, has bred one of his mares to him and we are excited to see the result next summer!  Dr. Patterson reports
that, although late in the summer, he used only one dose of frozen semen.
